Acceptance basis: Sample run: The sample run should use the buyer’s compound or a named equivalent, the batch mass in kilograms, and the intended mixing sequence including mastication if required. Record roll speed in r/min, friction ratio, minimum and maximum gap in millimetres, and discharge temperature. If a datasheet uses “velocity” without stating r/min, treat that cell as unconfirmed. Cycle time of the open-mill sequence is a measured mixing time, not a catalog throughput.
Site readiness: Confirm connected load in kW, three-phase supply frequency in Hz, cooling-water temperature and flow through each roll, mill footprint and operator access for roll removal, and whether a stock blender or take-off conveyor is in the same crate. Guarding and emergency-stop layout must be described for the intended operator access; a generic safety sentence is not a substitute for the installed arrangement. Compressed air demand applies only if pneumatic mill knives or a blender are specified.
Owner acceptance: FAT/SAT should name who records mixing time, sheet consistency and roll-surface temperature, and who signs when cooling duty or compound viscosity differs from the RFQ. Spare parts such as scrapers and mill knives should be listed with quantities. Engineering acceptance remains between buyer and equipment supplier. This guide does not state that any mill will pass a plant’s internal quality method.
